It will automatically cycle the furnace or fireplace on and off to maintain a desired room temperature. When installing this control with a forced air furnace, it is recommended that the existing thermostat be left in place and set at a lower temperature (60f). This will safeguard the user from accidentally setting the temp too low, because the system can be turned off from the remote.
